Q:    What is ATA’s Online Meeting Center?
A:    ATA’s Meeting Center is a web-based virtual meeting center, enabling the sharing of presentations, computer models, and other digital information along with voice communications to approximate a face-to-face meeting.

Q:    Why has ATA implemented an online meeting center?
A:    ATA believes that direct, face-to-face contact with our customers is extremely important. However, as travel has become more time-consuming and expensive, we looked for ways to leverage internet technology to supplement face-to-face contact through “virtual” meetings. There are many times when cost and schedule do not allow for face-to-face meetings. ATA’s Online Meeting Center provides many of the same benefits, allowing participants to review or deliver presentations over the internet and manipulate computer models using CAE software tools. As the customer you can also manipulate the model and software through your browser even if you do not have the application on your workstation. One typical example of the benefits of an online meeting is when you need to discuss a specific design feature or model detail of your product with your ATA Project Manager. We can schedule an “Instant Meeting” to enable you to visually share the model geometry in real time over the internet.

Q:    How is my confidential and proprietary information protected?
A:    ATA’s Online Meeting Center implements Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which is the most widely used Internet standard for securing sensitive data communications. All data communicated within a meeting is encrypted at 128-bit strength to prevent third parties from accessing any data in transit.

Q:    How can I tell that my confidential and proprietary information is protected by SSL?
A:    When you log into a meeting on ATA’s secured Online Meeting, you will note that the Meeting Center URL uses the “https” protocol, which indicates that our site uses SSL.

Q:    How do I participate in an online meeting with ATA?
A:    Usually, you will receive an email message from your ATA Host, providing all the information you need to log into an online meeting. Generally, the instructions will include the meeting topic, date, and time, along with a clickable hyperlink that will take you to the meeting login page at ATA’s Online Meeting Center web site. After logging into the web site, you will be given instructions on how to connect to the audio portion of the online meeting. Typically, you will simply enter your phone number and will immediately receive a call back from our Meeting Center. On the other hand, if you wish to request a web conference with ATA, you can notify your ATA contact by phone and e-mail and he will set it up. Usually the meeting can be scheduled instantly.

Q:   What are the software and hardware requirements to join in an online meeting with ATA?
A:    A critical requirement in the development of ATA’s Meeting Center was that our customers could participate without special hardware or software. ATA’s Online Meeting Center is designed to run from standard web browser software on most widely available PCs and workstations, including those running the following Operating Systems: Windows 95, 98, ME, XP, 2000, and NT; Mac OS 9; Sun Microsystems Solaris and Linux. The Meeting Center is optimized to work with MS Internet Explorer, but will also work with Netscape 4.x. When you first join a meeting using your web browser, our Meeting Center web site will automatically attempt to install the Meeting Manager plug-in software specific to your platform. This should take less than a minute, depending upon the bandwidth of your connection. Please let your ATA Host know if you have any problems with this installation.

  Q:    Do I need training?
A:    A critical requirement in the development of ATA’s Meeting Center was that our customers could participate in our meetings with little or no training. To attend a meeting, you only need to know how to use your standard browser features. However, you will need some minimal instruction from your ATA meeting Host to play a more active role such as delivering part of a presentation or sharing applications or models from your desktop.

Q:    How much does this cost me?
A:    There are no direct costs to the customer for participating in an ATA Online Meeting. In fact, the customer is likely to save money through the minimization of travel expenses.
