Waterfall Options
Rotate offers many tools to help you in your data analysis. Our 3D waterfall and color contour plotting are the best 3D plotting in the industry- not only because they're fast, but because they are flexible. Once you have completed your initial analysis of data, and have produced a graphical plot, you should look closely at the plot to make sure it is displaying the information in a view that is suited to your needs. If the originally generated waterfall is not exactly what you want, it can easily be changed. Not only can you select different parameters, but with Rotate2, Waterfall plots can be dynamically oriented for the best or most convenient view.
Below is our original waterfall plot. While it shows a lot of good information, the relative amplitudes of the data are not highlighted.

As a Window's user, you will find it easy to right click on the mouse and bring up a menu to re-orientate the waterfall. While you hold down the mouse button, you can reposition the back corner of the box where the three axes meet; let go of the button and the new plot is filled in immediately.

Here is our new plot after changing the waterfall's orientation so the XY plane is nearly flat. Relative amplitudes are much more visible!

On each screen you will notice there is also an upper pane. This is a 2D plot of the cursor (yellow) as it cuts across the waterfall. These 2D plots are both Frequency (Hz) against Time (seconds) as are the waterfall plots in the lower window. If we had selected multiple cursors, in this window there would be a graph (in differing colors) for each cursor. Cursor options include single, multiple, band or harmonic on the frequency, order, RPM or time axes.
