What’s New in Femap 2406

See how the enhancements and new features in Femap 2406 can improve your productivity and collaboration across the simulation workflow.

From geometry and meshing to solver support and postprocessing, the newly released Simcenter Femap 2406 offers a variety of enhancements and impressive performance improvements. This webinar will highlight many of these exciting updates, including the following:

  • Layup Builder Enhancements: The Layup Builder now allows for randomized property colors and bottom surface offsets, streamlining composite material management.
  • Command Finder Enhancements: The enhanced Command Finder enables quick access to tools through keyword searches and hover hints, improving navigation efficiency.
  • Improved Geometry Handling: Upgraded geometry tools simplify the import and modification process, ensuring efficient cleanup and optimization of complex models.
  • Advanced Meshing Options: New meshing capabilities offer greater control and automatic refinement options, resulting in high-quality mesh generation for accurate simulations.
  • Expanded Solver Support: Expanded solver compatibility allows for more complex analyses, empowering users to address a wider range of engineering challenges.
  • Enhanced Postprocessing Tools: New visualization and reporting features improve the interpretation of simulation results, facilitating clearer communication of findings.
  • API Enhancements: API updates enhance integration flexibility with other software tools, improving overall functionality and collaboration across platforms.

Femap’s release numbering scheme is aligned with other Siemens products, where the first two digits indicate the year of release and the second two indicate the month. Simcenter Femap features a biannual release cycle with major feature releases in January and July each year and maintenance patches in between as needed.

About the Speaker

  • Andy Haines

    Principal Applications Engineer, Siemens Digital Industries Software

    Mr. Haines became a member of the Femap development team in June 1998 and is currently a Principal Applications Engineer. Before joining Femap, he performed finite element analysis on satellite components for a large US Aerospace company. In over 25 years with Femap, he has been involved in a wide range of activities such as supporting sales engagements, participating in product planning, being the main team member performing manual testing, creating customized routines for customers using the Femap API, providing second-level customer support, teaching training classes for end users and value-added resellers, and at one time wrote 90% of Simcenter Femap’s end-user documentation. Andy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University.
