ATA Engineering Announces the Release of IMAT v8.3.0

Enhancements include new options for viewing the time histories underlying shock response spectrum results, the ability to calculate modal mass from drive point frequency response functions with a non-force reference, and a new module that simplifies the task of identifying peaks within a set of enhanced frequency response functions.

SAN DIEGO, Calif., April 9, 2024 – ATA is excited to announce the release of version 8.3.0 of the IMAT family of software products. IMAT is a MATLAB toolbox designed for test and analysis engineers who process data from a variety of sources. This release brings a number of useful new enhancements to the powerful functionality available in IMAT.

ATA is committed to providing new IMAT releases in conjunction with new MATLAB releases. ATA Engineering designed IMAT v8.3.0 to work with MATLAB R2024a as well as previous releases back to R2021b. IMAT v8.3.0 also supports Abaqus 2022 and Femap 2401.

Gain insight into shock response spectrum results

IMAT+Signal’s Shock Response Spectrum (SRS) method in imat_fn now provides an option to view the single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) time histories underlying your SRS results, giving you access to useful insights into the shape and behavior of the SRS curve and the peaks of the response.

Notable IMAT+Modal Upgrades:

Calculate modal mass for more types of FRFs

Need to generate state-space models, perform structural modification, or analytically synthesize frequency response function (FRF) test mode shapes from fixed base correction test data? IMAT+Modal’s OPoly is now able to calculate modal mass from drive point FRFs with acceleration as references.

Easily identify peaks from difficult data

IMAT+Modal’s new MIFODS module, EMIFit (for Enhanced Mode Indicator Function), has been created to supplement the customary peak picking procedure when high modal density or insufficient frequency resolution present a challenge. The plotted functions indicate how many modes are active in the frequency band; EMIFit alleviates the burden of selecting the corresponding peaks.

EMIFit simplifies the task of identifying peaks in your enhanced FRFs.

IMAT v8.3.0 is available to any IMAT user who is current with maintenance, enhance­ments, and support (ME&S). There is no cost for upgrading to v8.3.0. Customers can download the latest version here. Please note that this version, like other recent versions, requires Sentinel RMS 9.7.0 or higher.
