Femap is also solver-neutral and provides in-depth pre- and postprocessing support for all of the main commercial solvers on the market, including NX Nastran, Ansys, LS-DYNA, Abaqus and TMG. Femap with Simcenter Nastran

A series of advanced Simcenter Nastran solution capabilities are available as add-on modules to Femap, providing engineering desktop solutions for even the most advanced Nastran analysis.

Within Femap it is possible to directly define and control most aspects of the Simcenter Nastran simulation including solution options, specific job controls, load and constraint definition, model checking, and detailed result generation requests.

Femap’s thermal solvers add state-of-the-art thermal analysis solutions to the Femap environment and provide fast and accurate solutions to complex thermal engineering problems.

Using finite-element mesh, finite-volume based numerical techniques, the Femap Thermal Solver makes it easy to model nonlinear and transient heat transfer processes including conduction, radiation, and phase change. Accurate thermal analysis can be performed quickly and effectively, delivering the engineering insight and turnaround speed needed to ensure success within today’s rapid development cycles.

Femap Advanced Thermal Solver adds a number of more advanced thermal modeling and simulation capabilities to the Femap Thermal Solver package including 1D fluid network modeling and free and forced convection. An extensive suite of thermal modeling tools are provided to allow users to define more advanced and sophisticated thermal simulations, such as radiation and spacecraft modeling, including solar and orbital heating, orbit modeling and display, ray tracing capabilities, and articulating structures. These extensive modeling tools are also complemented by a number of more advanced solver features such as custom user subroutines, model simplification, sub-structuring, and interfaces to industry thermal codes.

The Femap Flow Solver adds state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis solutions to the Femap environment and provides fast, efficient and accurate solutions to complex CFD problems.

Femap Flow software is a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solution that is fully embedded into the native Femap environment. It provides fast, efficient and accurate functionality to simulate fluid flow and heat transfer for complex parts and assemblies. You also can explicitly couple Femap Flow with Femap Thermal and Femap Advanced Thermal for comprehensive thermo-fluid modeling of a wide range of multi-physics problems.

A sophisticated algebraic multi-grid solver provides the backbone to a complete CFD capability that is able to support the simulation of both laminar and turbulent fluid flow, low speed and high speed compressible flow, forced flow, natural convection and mixed flows, all with multiple inlets, outlets and internal flow boundary conditions. This memory efficient capability ensures that solutions are solved quickly and easily.
