The Fibersim™ portfolio of software for composites engineering provides specialized solutions for efficiently and profitably developing high-quality composite products.

The design of a single composite part could be made up of hundreds of unique objects, including core, plies, and inserts. All of these objects need to be included and accounted for to have a complete, iterative design-to-manufacturing process. However, defining and sharing this information is traditionally accomplished through tasks that are both tedious and complex and often not automated or well supported by commercial 3D CAD systems, making them more prone to error. Fibersim simplifies and automates the composite design process to enable reliable and repeatable design and manufacture of innovative composite products that are lighter, more cost-effective, and quicker to produce.

Fibersim also directly interfaces with Siemens’ structural simulation toolsets, Femap and Simcenter 3D, greatly easing the process of analyzing composite structures and ensuring that as-built products match the design intent and meet the product requirements for geometric accuracy, weight, stress, and durability—all while remaining manufacturable.

How Does Fibersim Complement Other Siemens Software Tools?

Fibersim integrates seamlessly with Simcenter and other CAE systems, enabling continuous, bidirectional updates between designers and analysts while possible manufacturing constraints are considered. It supports many different laminate composite manufacturing processes and operations that help to ensure that designs are fully manufacturable and as-built structures meet design requirements. Fibersim is available for several high-end CAD systems, including Siemens NX, Dassault Systèmes Catia V5, and PTC Creo. No matter the CAD system, Fibersim can also save detailed laminate structures in Siemens Teamcenter PLM so that information can be easily stored, searched, retrieved, and shared.
