SAN DIEGO, Calif., June 4, 2025 – ATA is excited to announce the release of version 8.5.0 of the IMAT family of software products. IMAT is a MATLAB toolbox designed for test and analysis engineers who process data from a variety of sources. This release brings a number of useful new enhancements to the powerful functionality available in IMAT.
ATA is committed to providing new IMAT releases in conjunction with new MATLAB releases. ATA Engineering designed IMAT v8.5.0 to work with MATLAB R2025a as well as previous releases back to R2023b. IMAT v8.5.0 also supports Abaqus 2024 and Femap 2412.

A fresh look and feel
With this release, various IMAT GUIs—Genetic Algorithm, UIPLOT, Edit Attributes, and several more—have been revamped to be compatible with the latest MATLAB version, offering familiar functionality but with an up-to-date look and feel.
Watch this space: Also in the works is an all-new vtkplot capability, to be premiered in the next IMAT release. With IMAT v8.5.0, the classic vtkplot can still be used with versions of MATLAB through R2024b; vtkplot is not available in MATLAB R2025a.
More efficient function data import
IMAT’s new readbk function lets you save time and hassle when importing your test data. BK Connect/PULSE users can now directly import function data into IMAT without a tedious intermediate translation step. This capability is also available directly in MIFODS and OPoly.

With IMAT+FEA’s readodb, you can now access more of your nonlinear results data from various result types:
- Connector forces and moments
- Logarithmic strain

IMAT v8.5.0 is available to any IMAT user who is current with maintenance, enhancements, and support (ME&S). There is no cost for upgrading to v8.3.0. Customers can download the latest version here. Please note that this version, like other recent versions, requires Sentinel RMS 9.7.0 or higher.
