Enhancements include a new, comprehensive FEM and result viewer interface, 64-bit OP2 data export, expanded nonlinear data import, and support for the recently added MATLAB display themes.
SAN DIEGO, Calif., October 27, 2025 – ATA is excited to announce the release of version 9.0.0 of the IMAT family of software products. IMAT is a MATLAB toolbox designed for test and analysis engineers who process data from a variety of sources. This release brings a number of useful new enhancements to the powerful functionality available in IMAT.
ATA is committed to providing new IMAT releases in conjunction with new MATLAB releases. ATA Engineering designed IMAT v9.0.0 to work with MATLAB R2025b as well as previous releases back to R2023b. IMAT v9.0.0 also supports Abaqus 2024 and Femap 2412.
Notable IMAT+FEA Upgrades:
Say hello to ATAViewer
New in this release, IMAT+FEA introduces a number of new capabilities with a fresh experience but a familiar interface. ATAViewer, a brand new, comprehensive FEM and result viewer interface with extensive functionality, wholly replaces IMAT+FEA’s VTKPLOT, provides a full-featured GUI with the ability to view multiple FEMs side by side, making it easy to compare test and analysis mode shapes, confirm test data quality, and more. ATAViewer also offers simplified navigation, FEM grouping, and customization capabilities, with other new features planned for future releases.

Accelerate your data processing
Need to create a 64-bit OP2 from IMAT—for example, to reduce the size of an existing OP2 without rerunning Nastran? IMAT+FEA’s writenas can now export 64-bit OP2 data in addition to 32-bit data. Using writenas in conjunction with readnas, you can generate a slimmed-down OP2 file with a subset of datablocks from your original OP2 file: simply read in the datablocks you want to keep and then export them to a new OP2 with writenas. This capability can even be used to write externally generated data to a new OP2 file for use elsewhere.
Import more nonlinear data
With this release, IMAT+FEA’s readnas can now read most nonlinear results from the OESNL datablock, including stress, strain, force, and displacement results, increasing your options when postprocessing results from Nastran.
Notable IMAT Upgrades:
Choose your theme
Make your eyes happy! IMAT now supports the recently introduced MATLAB display themes, such as Dark Theme.
