ATA Engineer Recognized with SAGE Publishing Young Engineer Lecture Award
SAN DIEGO, Calif., February 25, 2020 – On February 11 at the IMAC 2020 conference, ATA Project Engineer Joe Schoneman was recognized with the SAGE Publishing Young Engineer Lecture for his outstanding contributions to the field of experimental mechanics. This award, bestowed by the Society for Experimental Mechanics, recognizes the achievements of individuals in their early career whose work demonstrates considerable potential.
Mr. Schoneman’s lecture presentation, “Developing Multi-Disciplinary Skillsets for a High-Speed Future,” discussed the historical challenges of high-speed flight and the promise of coupled multiphysics analysis tools for these sorts of complex multidisciplinary problems, emphasizing the need for multidisciplinary teams to realize this promise and the opportunities for young engineers to develop competency across multiple domains.
Mr. Schoneman received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Wisconsin before joining ATA in 2016. He currently supports and manages projects related to structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, and flight mechanics of launch vehicles and high-speed aircraft at ATA’s Southwest Regional Office in Huntsville, Alabama.
