Training to Empower Your Teams

Learn how NX can automate the creation of digital twins to help streamline your design workflow.

We’re witnessing a remarkable transformation in mechanical design processes, where 2D drawings are evolving into 3D models to improve manufacturing processes, enhance downstream validation, and ensure seamless data integration with the design. To eliminate the need for 2D drawings, you need a complete digital representation of your product within a 3D model – often referred to as a digital twin. And the key to creating this digital twin efficiently lies in NX’s model-based definition (MBD).

MBD is a methodology that incorporates all essential information directly into the 3D model. This information encompasses dimensions, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements, material specifics, configuration details, and more. In our upcoming training, we’ve joined forces with the Siemens Digital Industries Software team to introduce you to the world of NX MBD and its ability to automate and seamlessly integrate part data into 3D models, resulting in a complete digital twin. This transformation sets the stage for further automation in manufacturing and inspection, shortens the design and decision cycles, reduces costs, and increases product quality.

Agenda:

🔹 Introduction to MBD

🔹 Authoring product manufacturing information (PMI)

🔹 MBD for PMI automation and reuse

🔹 Validating PMI

🔹 Collaborating with technical data packages (3D PDFs)

🔹 Downstream usage of PMI – VSA for tolerance stack up, CAM for machining, and CMM for offline quality inspection programming

🔹 Q&A
